My house is cold!
A sure sign that things aren’t right. If your rads aren’t heating up at all, this could be a problem with the timer, valves or thermostats, or could be caused by an air lock. We’ll come and take a look.
The water isn’t getting warm
Again, there could be a number of reasons for this. In the winter, frozen pipes are a common cause, especially in chilly rural areas. It could also be a problem with the thermostat or timer. Please get in touch with us at Norman Heating.
I can smell rotten eggs
This could be a carbon monoxide leak. Switch it off and call us immediately.
My radiator isn’t heating up fully and there are colder patches.
This is a common problem. Sometimes, the heat doesn’t seem to be reaching either the top or the bottom of the radiator. It could simply need bleeding - but call us for a chat first just to make sure.
The boiler is making funny noises
If you’re hearing a clank, clunk, bang or growl, it’s a sign that a part is broken. Switch the boiler off and give us a ring.
My boiler keeps switching off
Because boilers have a temperature cut-off switch for safety reasons, this could mean a part if overheating. Switch it off, and one of our engineers will take a look.
There’s water on the floor near the boiler
If you suspect there’s a leak, get in touch with us as soon as possible. Leaks have the nasty habit of spreading, and you don’t want any damage to your property.
My boiler smells hot
A boiler will often smell hot if it’s been switched off for a while - it’s like that dusty radiator smell. However, it could also be a sign that a component is getting too hot. Better to be safe than sorry - give us a ring.
